KIDS' VIDEO - How to Make Your Own Family in Rocks

Teaching this week's scriptures, every principle has something to do with families. I hope you can either show a 5-min video below, or actually do a rock art project in class to emphasize what you teach about these valuable Old Testament stories. The children love to portray their own family or the family they hope to create someday.

The main idea of the lesson is that families are essential to God's eternal plan for all of us. But families can be challenging. The bible is full of examples. The stories of Abraham and Sara, Issac and Rebecca, Jacob and Rachel, and their children are great examples of the complexity, joy and heart break. Families are designed to create our greatest joy in life.  But it also can be our greatest sorrow. Here in mortality is where we refine our very being, and learn to choose to God over all else.

To simplify this for the children, the lesson principles I like to focus on are:

     *  Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ can help me love my family.
     *  Covenant marriage is essential to God’s eternal plan.

Thank you for blessing the children by loving them as you share your testimony that God loves them, and is with them.
